Medicine Ball Sit Ups

The prevalence of so many abdominal toning exercises is a testament to the widespread nature of this concern. We could not begin to count how many people are looking to flatten tummy regions by the means of basic exercise routines. An example of such a workout are the Medicine Ball Sit Ups, a relatively basic workout slightly modified through the use of a weighted medicine ball.

To flatten tummy muscles by doing Medicine Ball Sit Ups, one begins by lying on the ground in a crunch or sit up position and holding the medicine ball in his or her hands. Then, lifting the upper body until the shoulder blades are about six inches from the ground, the individual tosses the weighted medicine ball to a partner, who should be standing at the individual’s feet. Then, while the participant is holding the sit up or crunch position for a few seconds, the partner tosses the ball back and the participant catches it, lowers his or her upper body again, and repeats the routine a set number of times. The added difficult caused by throwing the medicine ball and holding the sit up position may make Medicine Ball Sit Ups more effective than basic crunches or sit ups.
