Jackknife Among the many exercise routines designed to flatten tummy areas, the Jackknife might be one of the most edgy sounding. Yet, like many other similar abdominal fitness routines, the Jackknife is a relatively straightforward exercise that simply works to effectively isolate various muscles and muscle groups in the midsection. Read on to learn how to do the Jackknife.
In order to perform this routine, you must first have access to an inflatable fitness ball, which is often known as a yoga ball. When doing the Jackknife you put your body into a push-up position, but instead of placing your toes on the ground, you rest your shins on the top of the fitness ball. Then you use your legs to roll the ball forward toward your head, all the way until your toes are resting on the top of the ball. Returning the ball to its original position underneath your shins completes a single repetition of the Jackknife exercise. Again, this is a simple workout that is designed to help flatten tummy muscles, especially the central rectus abdominis muscle. Still, we should be clear to point out that it may be relatively difficult to accomplish, especially for beginners.
